Electric Cars Europe B.V. (ECE) - The Netherlands - Malaysia – Australia
Electric Cars Europe is a manufacturer of electric powered cars. It holds a wide range of popular models which are transformed into an electric car, such as Volkswagen Golf and Lotus Elise. In 2009 a contract was signed with the Malaysian car manufacturer Proton for serial production of electric powered vehicles, to reach a production of 100.000 cars in 2010.
The Australian Federal Government has expressed their interest in new and green innovative car projects. Currently Zernike Australia is exploring opportunities for ECE to enter the Australian car market and how to benefit from Kevin Rudd's Green Car Innovation FundFrom the early stage of ECE, Zernike has been involved as a strategic partner and stakeholder.
Hansa Clinics - Comprehensive Cancer Institute- The Netherlands – Australia
In Europe there is a new and innovative engagement on the War on Cancer: the Hansa Clinics by Zernike. This model is a new paradigm that employs an innovative approach to significantly enhance the management and treatment of patients in cancer related illnesses.
The Hansa Clinic concept makes it possible to have a high-end research facility and a high quality of interdisciplinary diagnosis, followed by a highly effective and complete treatment plan. The comprehensive concept includes a completely standardized and dedicated designed building, the latest diagnostic and therapeutical equipment plus a fully standardised communication and data system.
The Hansa clinic concept will be rolled out in a relatively short time span over 15 countries in the world, from Northern Europe, Asia, to Australia. The thorough standardisation of the clinics makes it possible to exchange staff and experience. The normally local focus of a hospital is broadened to an international one. At present, the first hospital is being built in Boxmeer, The Netherlands. Zernike Australia is preparing the ‘landing’ of the Hansa Clinics in Australia. |

Masterplanning Senai Hi-Tech Park – Johor, Malaysia
Zernike Australia was contracted by PTP of Johor Malaysia to do the Master Planning of a new Hi-Tech Park at Johor in the Iskandar Development Region. Zernike Australia assembled a consortium of international experts of Zernike Australia, Zernike Netherlands, Zernike UK, Zernike Panama and The ABC Group of The Netherlands.
The master plan for Senai High Technology Park brings a true third generation Science and Technology Park, as a new offer from Malaysia to the international investment community. The Techpark will set standards that match the best internationally and comprise:
- Modern purpose built accommodation with excellent connectivity that provides a perfect launch pad for Malaysian businesses to penetrate international markets as well as high technology Foreign direct investment (FDI) to work profitably in Malaysia.
- Land serviced to the best international standards with utilities in place for new buildings, for those who wish to build their own premises to meet their own requirements, and
- A service rich managed business environment that actively fosters connections and facilitates business linkages across the Senai Hi-Tech Park, the Iskandar region and internationally.
The development will create zones, focussed on different strategic targets including a Free Zone that will seek to attract high tech manufacturing units and R&D zone that will bring international actors at university level to train Malaysians in new specific skills associated with more innovative sectors. This will be matched with specialist applied research facilities that seek to underpin the strategic focus of Senai-HTP on selective priority sectors.
