About Zernike

Zernike Australia is a subsidiary of The Zernike Group and was initiated in Australia in May 1999 at the Technology Park Bentley in WA. In 2001, the second Technology Park under contract by Zernike became the Brisbane Technology Park on behalf of the Queensland Government.

In addition to the management of Technology Parks and precincts, Zernike specialises in the commercialisation of technology including the management of (seed) capital funds. Zernike uses a wide range of specialised services to bring Technology, Markets and Funding together in one compelling proposition.

Our principal focus is:

  • Provide an environment conducive to creativity and innovation;
  • Enable the growth of the start-up enterprise;
  • Provide and foster meaningful linkages and networks between government, academia and industry;
  • Facilitate, develop and transfer knowledge and innovation; and
  • Build-up a strong combination of Regional Innovation and Foreign Direct Investments.
  • Create Smart & Innovative Communities

For Seed-Capital and Early-Stage funding of enterprises, Zernike is a major shareholder of incubating companies and associated programs. In addition to the growing number of seed funds, that amount to over AU$250 million in total, for the last 15 years Zernike has managed Technology Parks and Incubators all over the world.

Zernike is at the forefront of influencing Hi-Tech community design, through our involvement in the Technology Precinct Master-planning process. Under the Zernike Australia tenure, Technology Parks in WA and Queensland have evolved from a cluster of buildings (real estate) to an organic community of like-minded organisations, researchers, entrepreneurs and educators.

In WA the Function Centre was the joint winner of the National 2007 Golden Service Award with the Burswood Entertainment Complex.
